Anna Alysia Barbosa
Class of 2014
The University of Texas at San Antonio Communications and Business
Desired Career: Business

I have thoroughly enjoyed my adventures as a college freshman, and I have successfully adjusted to university life. While I enjoy attending The University of Texas at San Antonio, my goal is to transfer to The University of Texas at Austin in the fall. I recently volunteered with my grandmother's church by making tamales for the community. I plan on joining more campus organizations and becoming more involved throughout the spring semester.

Class of 2012
The University of Texas at Austin Spanish and Education Desired Career: Education

I was very happy with my academic performance last semester since I switched my major from mathematics to Spanish. I really enjoy working in the classroom and look forward to a career as an educator. I am currently serving as a Senior Counselor for the Austin Capital Area Community Leadership Council (ACACLC) where I advise and mentor incoming students. I also assisted the organization with preparation for some of their fundraisers.

Class of 2012
Trinity University Communication and Entrepreneurship
Desired Career: Entrepreneurship / Journalism
I spent the fall semester in Rome learning about Italian culture while challenging myself in a new environment. It was difficult because I do not speak Italian and was unfamiliar with the surroundings. I ultimately adjusted to the new culture and learned so much about myself from the experience. I helped feed the homeless and donated books to a children's shelter as a way to serve and learn some Italian during my time abroad. Now I am back in Texas, and I am excited about my prospects for a summer internship.
